The Digitech X Series XMS Main Squeeze Guitar Compressor Sustainer Pedal avoids those choppy compression release
and sustain problems found on other pedals. It does this by incorporating studio-quality
dbx® OverEasy™ compression technology that provides near-transparent compression, and
delivers long, real-sounding sustain for your guitar. And you no longer have to grit your
teeth hoping a ragged release doesn’t suddenly chop up the tail of a sustained note, or
have to endure a compression that makes notes sound thin and lifeless. You even get an EQ
control so you can perfectly tune your compressed sound, which is especially useful for
guitar. Controls feature Level, Attack, EQ, and Sustain. Outputs feature Output and Tuner
Out.
The Digitech X Series XMS Main Squeeze Guitar Compressor Sustainer Pedal
is a high quality compressor
using world famous dbx® dynamics processing. DigiTech’s exclusive
AudioDNA™ technology gives you studio quality comression in an easy
to use stompbox design. Experimenting with the Main Squeeze controls
provides you a variety of application settings, from mild compression
that subtly quiets peak signals, to full on sustain for squeezing the last
drop out of each note during those great solos.
Level Knob
Controls the effect’s output level. Turn this knob clockwise to increase
the output level, and counter-clockwise to decrease output level.
Attack Knob
Controls the amount of attack and release of the compression effect.
Turning this knob clockwise gradually increases the attack time and
shortens the release time of the compression effect. Turning the knob
counter-clockwise, shortens attack and increases the compression
release time. Higher settings allow picking transients to be heard easier.
EQ Knob
Controls the boost or cut of high frequencies. Turn this knob clockwise
to increase the high frequency content, and counter-clockwise to
decrease the high frequency content.
Sustain Knob
This knob is used to set both the threshold and output gain of the
compression effect. Set between the minimum and the 11 o’clock
positions, you get mild to medium compression that limits the peak
input signals. Set between the 12 o’clock and max positions, you will
achieve greater sustain when balancing this control’s setting with the
Level control. You can also drive the input of an amplifier harder when
this control is turned up which may help to increase distortion.
AC Adapter Jack
Connect a DigiTech PS200R power supply to this jack. Use the proper
supply for your area’s Mains line voltage.
Input Jack
Connect your instrument to this jack. Connecting a guitar cable to this
jack engages battery power even though the Indicator LED may not be
lit. To prolong battery life, disconnect all cables from the pedal when not
in use.
Pedal Release Pins
These two pins are spring-loaded hinges that hold the pedal in place.
Push these pins in to release the pedal from the chassis exposing the
battery compartment. (See battery replacement diagram.)
Out 1(Amp) Jack
Connect this output to your guitar amplifier.
Out 2 (Mixer) Jack
This output features DigiTech’s CIT™ cabinet modeling technology, that
lets you run the pedal directly into a mixer or recorder input without
having to use a guitar amplifier.
Indicator LED
Indicates when the effect is turned on. If the LED becomes dim or does
not light when the cables are connected, the battery needs to be
replaced.
Connections
The Digitech X Series XMS Main Squeeze Guitar Compressor Sustainer Pedal
has a single input (INPUT) and a pair of outputs (AMP
and MIXER). The two outputs give you the following options: running
into a guitar amplifier, or running directly to a mixing console or
recording device, or both. The MIXER output uses DigiTech’s advance
CIT™ cabinet modeling technology for an authentic guitar amplifier
sound without using an amp.
